hey! well, i am home again, at least for a little while. my time in new orleans was terrific. the need there is still so large, just because the news has abandoned them doesn't mean we should. pray, pray for the people there, pray for workers, pray for the harvest! pray for new orleans to be rebuilt as a city that is seeking after God!

so, then... it's a new year. nothing could make me happier. the sun is rising on a new day in my life as it is in yours too. i love new years, my hope is renewed and my heart is waiting in anticipation of what's around the next corner. i rang in the new year in new orleans on bourbon street... interesting.....so tell me how you rang in the new year!

Hey! Well, it took me a while, but.... here are some pictures from my trip to New Orleans!! Hope you enjoy!

This is some of my team and I enjoying our thanksgiving meal.

Johnny, Kyle, Samantha, Peter, and ME!

This is a home near where a levy broke, the orange(ish) lines on the house are water-lines and the guy (Jeff) in the picture is six feet tall....

This is the group of people who I got to fix a screen porch with, in fact, we are sitting in front of the porch we repaired!

These are some great little guys we got to meet. The one on the right is my newest boyfried - Nate.

Here's a bunch of us girls!

And that's it for now! It was an incredible week and I am looking forward to returning the day after Christmas to continue serving there. God bless, ry

Hey Y'all!!!

So, I got home from New Orleans a week ago. It was an incredible week. We got to serve food to the people there, rescreen/reframe a front porch for some sweet elderly people, clean up neighborhoods, and celebrate Thanksgiving with the people in New Orleans who have returned to their homes. We got to pray with many people throughout the week too! It was a time to draw closer to the heart of God and a time of serious bonding with some fantastic people! I only knew one person that went on this trip before we left, but by the end of the week I had a plethora of new close and wonderful friends.

The destruction that we saw while we were there was..... surreal. When I was asked if I felt like I was in another country I answered, "no, I feel like I'm in another world." The whole time you walk around and serve you saw water lines, often the water would have been up over my head. It was very sobering and humbling to see and meet people who had lost everything, yet many of them still had a joy. Basically, it was an amazing week. I hope to post some pictures soon. So.... until later! ~ Ry
